Feeling Better.

It's been a long week... and yes, I do realize it's only Wednesday. It was last Wednesday that we discovered Gracie had a low grade fever. We attributed her symptoms to allergies since she was acting fine otherwise. The fever ended up staying around for a few days and was soon joined by a terrible cough that has been keeping her up during the night and making it very difficult to sleep during naps. Basically, none of us slept for days, but we seem to be rounding a corner! She was able to nap well yesterday, and while we struggled to get her to sleep last night, she's still sleeping now...

Little girls who don't sleep well tend to be very cranky, especially when they aren't sleeping because of a frustrating cough. It's been pitiful to watch her have these coughing fits and listen to her tell us "I don't want to cough" in between coughs and tears. Sean and I took her to the doctor on Monday. We were told it's something viral, there really isn't anything to give her, so we wait it out and try using Zyrtec. So that's what we've been doing.

The fact that she hasn't been up since about 12:30am makes me hopeful! I think she's really feeling better.

And...now they are gone. :(

A few months ago, I circled a couple of important April dates on my calendar. My pen slashed through day after day as we got closer, but I thought it would surely take forever to actually get to them all. I've now turned around to realize that not only have I passed all of those dates, but we've entered an entirely different month now!

The month of April flew by with no apologies and left me turning a calendar page this morning, coming face to face with May. There are two things about the arrival of May that are worth noting here:

1) My baby girl turns three years old this month. We'll be celebrating her birthday with family and friends in just three weeks, then we'll officially start calling her a three year old on the 27th! I'm excited to celebrate another year with her, but darn it, didn't she just turn two??

2) My baby boy is due next month, as in the one following this one... Wow, this has been such a fast pregnancy. I'm certainly ready to meet him, but I can't believe we're almost there!

Of the important dates circled on the calendar, one was arrival day of Sean's little brother and his girlfriend... They arrived on Monday, we had a wonderful visit with them, and now, they are gone. The week went by so quickly! :( Gracie ended up sick towards the end of the week, but both Ryan and Bekah were extremely helpful and helped us watch her many times so that Sean and I could rest ('cause we have not been resting at night...). They just may have to come back this summer after the little brother is born... ;)

I have lots of pictures that I'd like to share from the week, but I'll start with these. Gracie and Bekah planted flowers together using a Miracle Grow kit Memaw (Sean's mom) sent. They've actually already started blooming, and when they get about 3 inches tall, we'll move them to bigger pots. :)
